Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or perhaps even all three, chances are that your family has some sort of winter holiday traditions. After interviewing people throughout the high school, we learned of some of the traditions that our very own faculty and student’s families hold.
After interviewing fifty students and staff I learned that almost every student celebrates the holidays by eating dinner with their whole family, most of which are at their grandparents’ house. Two students told me they eat foreign foods like Chinese and Korean and another student told me she eats lamb every year.
Many of the families of Northern Lebanon School District watch special movies every year. Two students and one faculty member sit down and relax to a viewing of the Christmas Story. Hannah Boltz watches Disney movies with her mother every year, and Lauren Parker watches the Tom & Jerry Special every Christmas morning.
So as you can see, our holiday traditions among the students and staff of Northern Lebanon are wide and varied.
